Walk Among Camels

Kamelranchen in Ormöga bills itself as the largest camel ranch in the Nordics. What makes it special is that you walk freely among the camel herd on their natural pasture — the only place in the Nordics where you can do this. The ranch also has goats (walk-in petting enclosure), rabbits, llamas, alpacas, cows, and kangaroos.

Camel rides are available as a drop-in activity with a queue system — no pre-booking needed. Rides are weather-dependent and not guaranteed on rainy days.

Bring cash for the camel rides — it speeds up the queue. Entry accepts card, Swish, and cash.

Good to Know

• Plan for 1-2 hours. The visit is relaxed and unhurried.
• Ice cream and snacks at the entrance. A food truck (hamburgers) is sometimes on-site in July.
• Dogs are welcome.
• Bring your own picnic — there’s outdoor seating with parasols.
• The season is very short (about 6 weeks), so check their website before visiting.

The ranch is a calm, low-key experience — perfect for younger children or a relaxed afternoon stop on a northern Öland day trip.
